pike has a few things influencing his behavior, from his eyes, to his leg. to his scars, to his brain. he is a little off kilter and a bit wierd, but aren't the weirdest people the most interesting?

with his eye condition. he struggles to read, often asking for help, even at his age to read a simple line. his eyesight is getting worse, he can barely make out certain figures with his glasses, often causing stress and giving him that sense of hopelessness. he often seeks advice, weather it be from Nora, his parents or his friends, more so when he's arguing with himself over nothing. acting impudent when something he use to understand, isn't understandable any longer. he has a contemperous period of rage and anxiety. nothing that he can control. he struggles to understand most things, often getting angry and stalking out of the room in a fit of anger and irritation. normal trivial things add to the anger. the mood doesn't last long, but inside, it seems to last for days. the anger and rage and anxiety and irritation, the lack of worth, the confusion. it all works inside of him.
pike does have clarity. often listening to music, to call him rages, playing the violin, or immersing himself in his office, reading books, writing stores, watching sports. it calms his rages, and eases his pain. his struggles help him learn, and help him better understand himself and others. but often has him see his regrets. for instance, his regret of not loving his three sisters more, or not spending alot of time with his mother. the things he can't go back and change. the bonds he made, the bonds he broke, the things he learned and lost. they all churn inside of him.
fear. another of pike's struggles. thunder, the loud cresendio of sounds. it scares him. it makes him cower, and remember past experiences. the lightning, the bright lights, they frighten him, make him hide, and cower in corners. hide underneath the bed at night. but they also allow for growth. with every thunderstorm he encounters, he becomes that much braver. standing with nora, thinking about the silly fears he has. she makes it seem laughable. something he doesn't need to fear. trivial matters that aren't worth the time.
but then there were amities. relationships that allowed him to grow. and to understand. his friends, all of his friends, leading him on a different path of growth. of change. taking him by the hand and leading him on a trip, a friendly path that serves a purpose. they help him learn, and persue his dreams, help him revel in his happines and ammend his dark moments. they help him be brave, and... himself. socializing, is his strength. being with people opens up new oportunities. they allow him to be funny, often dancing with Cherwell, enjoying the simple fun he has. playing with his son's electronics, attempting to figure out how they work. being smart, and whimsical, doing funny things, acting goofy. he's mindful. often taking notice to one's wishes and respecting them, not that they make him upset.
OVERVIEW:
in all, pike is a child at heart. he doesn't act his age nessicerily. he acts like a grown-up when he wants to be and an ADHD-seeming bean the rest of the time. making mistakes and often acting wierd are two of the most common things in Pike. he's a teddy bear. quirky, loveable, and huggable you can be with him forever. on the outside, he comes off as cheecky and odd man, but inside, it's a messed up world of feelings. dont worry, he's not as crazy once you get to know him. when you do, he's actually a really cool guy.
